You'd think that after facing a severe bout of mono, Ashley Bashioum (Mac) would rather spend her free time this summer relaxing by the pool or lying on
the beach. Instead, the energetic teen is eyeballing the rough trails of LA's Griffith Park. "I want to go mountain biking," she says. Because her old bike is back home in Minneapolis, Bashioum is already hunting for a new one to
wheel around on. "I'd love a Gary Fisher...(which) is for mountain bike-racing and has great shocks," the actress enthuses. "But (the brand) is expensive, so I'm looking for something in the medium (price) range." Of course, once she's snagged the perfect mountain bike, does Bashioum worry about taking a tumble? "When I go roller-blading I wear everything---helmet, arm pads and knee pads. I practically wear a bullet-proof vest!" she laughs.
"But I'll just wear a helmet when I'm mountain biking. I'm not too worried about falling down."
